CAASPP Testing: March 10-May 22, 2015
Dear Parents/Guardians,
The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress, or CAASPP, which has replaced the Standardized Testing and Reporting, or STAR Program, is the new state academic testing program. CAASPP is a system intended to provide information that can be used to monitor student progress and ensure that all students leave high school ready for college and career. This year, CAASPP includes computer adaptive tests and performance tasks in English–language arts and mathematics as well as paper-based tests for science.
Students will take the CAASPP test in grades 5 through 8 from March 12-May 22, 2015. In addition, grades 5 and 8 will be taking the CST in science during April 13-29. Barstow STEM Academy students will be following the schedule below for administration of the CAASPP and CST for science. On testing days, all students need to be at school promptly at 9:00am. Administration of the test will begin starting at 9:05am the day of the test. We also need to avoid interruptions during testing times. On testing days, please make sure any appointments are scheduled for after school and all arrangements for special circumstances have been made with students prior to the start of the school day. It is very important for your student(s) to be at school all day without interruptions in order to complete the CAASPP.

Extended to April 2, 2015 Feb. 20 - March 13, 2015: BSA accepting applications online for new students (100 spots available for incoming 5th grade and limited space available for grades 6, 7, & 8).
If you are currently a student at Barstow STEM Academy, you are already enrolled for the 15/16 school year. We are accepting applications for new students interested in attending BSA for the 15/16 school year.
If you are interested in having your student(s) attend Barstow STEM Academy, please complete the online BSA application (link found on the left side of page under More Info). Once you have submitted the online application, you will receive a confirmation email stating that we have received your application, and we will be contacting you in the next few weeks with more information.
